Hellenic Adult Education Association | Greece

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Athens, the HAEA is a scientific non-profit network of 2.000 associated members – adult education organizations, adult educators, trainers and researchers. Over the years, HAEA has become a recognized and very active community of practice in Adult Education and research within the Greek and the International framework.

HAEA's vision is to enhance social, organizational, and human potential through Adult Education. The specific aims of the Association are:

  1. the promotion of ideas and the principles of Adult Education,
  2. the development of a general awareness, information and practice in Greece and abroad regarding Adult Education and transformative learning issues,
  3. the enhancement of the cooperation with relevant international associations, scientific societies, institutes, research centres, universities, enterprises, private and public entities,
  4. the support of initiatives for the application of innovative plans for adult education and training.

 

HAEA’s initiatives serve as a bridge between the theoretical approaches it develops and the practical outcomes of its diverse learning programs across various organizational settings. It fulfills its mission by implementing European projects and organizing conferences, seminars, webinars, ToT programs, and e-learning courses, as well as conducting research and producing printed and digital teaching materials. Additionally, HAEA is a prolific publisher, regularly releasing articles and books on adult education, including the international open-access scientific journal ADULT EDUCATION: Critical Issues. HAEA is the scientific advisor of Larissa-Learning City, which has been awarded for its activities by UNESCO (2018) and the European Adult Education Association /EAEA (2020).

Institute of Industrial and Business Education & Training | Greece

IVEPE-SEV is a non-profit educational organization, founded in 1980 by a group of Greek industries. The main purpose of its foundation was the creation of a credible body that would serve as a reference point in the provision of high quality training and to support lifelong learning to employees, unemployed, self-employed and individuals in vulnerable social groups both in Greece and abroad. SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), one of the most significant social partners in the country, represents hundreds of large enterprises and SME's of Greece with 50 sector and regional associations and thousands of direct and indirect members. Its members represent about 50% of business in the country, 46% of total turnover, 41% of corporate revenue, 10% of private-sector employees. SEV's member companies are active in all business sectors such as energy, transportation, processing, medicine, metals, food, banks, technology, chemical industry, services, wholesalers, etc. IVEPE-SEV is the educational branch of SEV and operates under its institutional oversight. SEV has a leading role in transforming Greece into a productive, extroverted and competitive economy, as an independent and responsible representative of the private economy. SEV, as a social partner who believes in the functioning of institutions, promotes the relevant state and EU institutions as well as the views and positions of the business community. SEV formulates positions, analyzes and develops policy proposals on economy, industry, innovation, employment, education and work skills, social dialogue, sustainable development, corporate responsibility. SEV is also networking its members with decision centers (domestic and international), with the aim of creating added value. IVEPE-SEV has also the role of participating in calls and implementing on behalf of SEV, actions and projects financed by the European Union that promote SEV's role.

Municipality of Thermi | Greece

Department of Education, Youth, Life Long Learning and Employment

The Department of Education, Youth, Life Long Learning and Employment is responsible for the promotion and regulation of the operation of primary and secondary grade education, the promotion and the implementation of Lifelong Learning programs, Youth & volunteering, and for the promotion and expansion of employment in the Municipality. Generally, the responsibilities of our department are as follows:

  • Ensure that appropriate facilities are provided for early childhood education and for primary and secondary schools.
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the school committees (correspondence with the Municipality's services and various bodies, keeping minutes, drafting decisions) and prepares recommendations to the City Council on those issues that require it, in accordance with the legislation in force, and forwards recommendations to the special departments of the Municipality.
  • Plan and ensure the implementation of policies, programmes and actions for the counselling of primary and secondary school pupils, as well as for the general education and training of residents within the framework of the UNESCO Learning Cities Network.
  • Ensure the design and implementation of Lifelong Learning programmes within the framework of the relevant national and regional programming, in accordance with the legislation in force.
  • Ensure the implementation of programs of the Centers for Education for Sustainability of the Ministry of Education within the framework of programmer contracts concluded by the Municipality with the Ministry.
  • Study and recommend the allocation of classrooms for other public uses or events of public interest, in cooperation with the School Committee.
  • Supervise and control the parents' and guardians' associations.
  • Recommend the suspension of classes due to exceptional circumstances or epidemic disease within the administrative boundaries of the municipality concerned.

 

Morover, other responsibilities sectors of the Directorate, is the Employment and the Youth council according to which we:

  • Plan and recommend the implementation local action programmes and local initiatives of Thermis youth council and participates in such actions and initiatives to promote and expand the youngsters deployment to the commons and also, promotes the employment possibilities and opportunities.
  • ensure the absorption of the labour force in the municipality's area by developing advisory activities for the unemployed and promoting equal opportunities for access to the labour market.
  • Ensure the creation and operation of mechanisms for informing the unemployed about employment opportunities in the region.
  • Ensure the organization and implementation of programmes aimed at young people, in cooperation with the plans and programmes of the relevant General Secretariat.
  • Implement actions and programmes in the fields of culture, sport and youth, complementing the actions and programmes implemented by the Municipality's legal entities.
  • Propose, supervise and implement actions relating to the creation, operation and support of Youth Councils in the Municipality of Thermi.
Eurosuccess Consulting | Cyprus

Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry | Cyprus

The Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) was founded in 1952 and is federally affiliated with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). The NCCI geographically covers the city and the province of Nicosia, Kyrenia and Morphou.

Since then, NCCI went through various stages of development which led to its present structure in order to pursue entrepreneurship and support to the Nicosia enterprises. It is private non-profit organisation financially independent. The Chamber is governed by a 20 member council which is elected by its members  every three years. 

Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry has played a leading role in the economic development of Nicosia and the wider district either by pursuing the realisation of vitally  important economic and investment projects or by developing supportive initiatives of its own in that direction.

The Aims of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The activity of the NCCI is multisided and is focussing on the following:

  • To actively pursue the Economic, Social, Cultural and regional development of the city, as well as the district of Nicosia.

DomSpain S.L.U. | Spain

is a Training and Consulting Company active on a national and international level. The Training department of DomSpain develops educational programmes in the following directions: courses and workshops for adult learners, including foreign languages, ICT, cookery, dance and personal growth classes; VET: ICT, foreign languages, employability, work-based learning for NEETs and long-term unemployed; training for educators focusing on improving foreign language competences, use of digital tools and new teaching methods.

The courses and trainings are implemented in DomSpain premises as well as at 8 civic centres and 6 primary and secondary schools of the Tarragona province. Employs around 60 educators and count with around 1400 students each academic year. In the ICT field, DomSpain has acquired experience through

many years of protection of informatics infrastructures to offer to organizations, businesses, public bodies, and other entities integral solutions, which help them guarantee the cybernetic security. Also, DomSpain has a highly qualified team of information technology that has implemented various projects on national and International level involving development of educational platforms.

DomSpain is a member of the International E-Learning Association, an international network of e-learning professionals, researchers, and students. DomSpain is accredited by the Employability Serviceof Catalonia as a consultancy, recruitment and training centers to coordinate local, national and international mobilities and internships of VET students. It is a member of EfVET, European Forum of the VET providers.

Redessa | Spain

Redessa has been leading the Business Creation and Entrepreneurship Support Service as a point of free information and advice for companies and entrepreneurs with new business projects in Reus, a municipality with more than 108,000 inhabitants. In addition, thought its convention center, it promotes different events to boost entrepreneurship throughout the territory. It also manages a business center that allocates about 300 entrepreneurs based on low cost rates and providing value-added services to help entrepreneurs in their first three years of life. One of the services most valued by our community of companies are tailor-made trainings, seminars and bootcamps on demand from companies.

Redessa, as the public company for economic promotion, knowledge and innovation of the Reus City Council, through its ICT Incubator has significant knowledge and experience in the creation of start-ups and spin-offs in the field of technology and innovation, collaborating very closely with the university, companies, institutions and other social agents. In this public service, entrepreneurs go through different phases of training, training (hard and soft skills) and personalized mentoring aimed at launching their business on the market.

The company manages also its own congress and convention center where are promoted various knowledge transfer events to encourage the entrepreneurship among the citizens. City schools use to visit Redessa’s business centers, where may experience the daily duties of any entrepreneurship as well.
