However, the changing\u00a0labour\u00a0market is encouraging a broader discussion: is professional success defined by a diploma, or by finding a career path that matches a person\u2019s skills,\u00a0interests\u00a0and opportunities for growth?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Examples from vocational education in Lithuania show that there is no single route to professional success. Vocational education and training can help people discover their strengths, gain practical\u00a0experience\u00a0and enter the\u00a0labour\u00a0market with concrete skills. For some, it becomes a first step towards employment; for others, it provides a foundation for further studies,\u00a0entrepreneurship\u00a0or a later career change.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This flexibility is becoming increasingly important as employers look for people who can not only apply theoretical knowledge, but also solve problems, adapt to\u00a0new technologies,\u00a0collaborate\u00a0and continue developing their skills throughout their careers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Career paths are also becoming less linear. People may\u00a0acquire\u00a0a vocational qualification, gain work experience, continue into higher education or return to training later in life to move into a new sector. This makes accessible reskilling and lifelong learning particularly important for adults whose jobs and sectors are being affected by\u00a0digitalisation, the green\u00a0transition\u00a0and changing economic needs.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These trends in Lithuania reflect the wider challenges addressed by\u202f<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">COOPSKILLS<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. By strengthening cooperation between municipalities, businesses and vocational education and training providers, the project aims to create learning opportunities that respond to real local\u00a0labour-market needs and help people adapt to economic change.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The key question is therefore not whether vocational or higher education is more prestigious.
